A couple of days ago, we were going around the internet and analyzing some of our competition. We try to do that at least once per year to make sure nobody is blatantly copying our content and to also see what the industry trends are. We happened upon a company that specifically targets churches and couldn't believe how much they are ripping them off.

We're not going to name them here because doing so basically gives them free publicity and would help them in the search engines. They're easy enough to find if you search using the following info. Anyway, they're charging $1,000 upfront for the site + $20 per month.

That price isn't for some specially designed custom site either. It is for a basic, template based, do it yourself site. $1,000 up front! They don't even offer a decent selection of templates. Most were very generic and didn't include any kind of images that were specifically for a church type of design.

It's very disturbing to find somebody targeting churches and ripping them off that way.

We just finished up a year long contract with the well known search engine optimization company SEO Inc. and couldn't be happier .... being completely done with them. Long story short is by following their instructions and advice we lost almost 50% of our long established daily traffic numbers. All of our existing top 5 and top 10 search engine listings have dropped to the second or third page and we haven't gotten more than 5 visitors from any of the new listings we got from the new keywords they recommended that we target.

We have been online and doing business for almost 10 years and have spent just over half a million dollars in advertising of some kind or another during that time. Doing business with SEO Inc. has been the single biggest waste of our time and money. Not only did working with them not help us in any way, it actually hurt us by causing our existing search listings that we acquired and maintained for years on our own to significantly drop.

If you are considering outsourcing your search engine optimization efforts then we strongly recommend avoiding SEO Inc. in every way possible.

Greetings All,

It is being reported today at numerous news outlets that merchants who use Yahoo for their website provider and payment processor are losing out on sales, big time. Click the links below for more details.

Yahoo’s Cyber Monday Meltdown
New York Times, United States

What a shame. We would like to invite all those affected by Yahoo's outage to try our services so they can avoid having the same thing happening to them ever again.
